Tommy Scott Trio

Short Bio:

Tommy Scott is an English composer, pianist, and recording artist. Since moving to Paris, Tommy has collaborated with composers such as Shimon Gambourg and Katerina Pipili, and toured across Europe. He has also written and arranged additional music for a number of projects.

Born into a musical family in the Welsh mountains and classically trained from childhood, Tommy Scott studied with the legendary Jason Rebello (Sting, Jeff Beck). Encouraged by mentors Joey Calderazzo (Branford Marsalis) and Danilo Perez (Wayne Shorter), he quickly gained a reputation as a prodigious jazz pianist in the west of England. By 16 he was leading his own band at festivals and drawing media attention; the following year he was accepted by the New England Conservatory in Boston.
Tommy’s performances are noted for melodic clarity, emotional depth, and a dynamic, narrative approach at the piano. His language draws on the symphonic spirit of Sibelius, the soulful funk and blues of Herbie Hancock, the explorations of Wayne Shorter, the jazz‑rock drive of McCoy Tyner, and the Latin inflections of Danilo Pérez.
He has toured widely across the UK and Europe as both a bandleader and sideman, sharing stages and studios with artists including Jean Toussaint, Brandon Allen, Gene Calderazzo, Alex Hitchcock, Karl Vanden Bossche, Misha Mullov‑Abbado, Damon Brown, Dave O’Higgins, Quentin Collins, Rob Luft, Tom Ollendorff, Paul Booth, David Sausay, Benjamin Henocq, Pierre Marcus, Jesus Vega, and Gaël Horellou.
PROJECTS:
Debut album “Going For It” (2020) with Asaf Sirkis (drums) and Yuri Goloubev (double bass).
Groove‑forward trio launched in 2021 featuring Flo Moore (electric bass) and Sophie Alloway (drums), showcasing Tommy’s globally influenced writing.
Since relocating to Paris, he has filmed multiple session videos with Gabriel Pierre (bass) and drummers Raphaël Pannier and Pierre‑Alain Tocanier, and is preparing a much‑anticipated second album featuring leading French musicians.

Collaborations:

With Shimon Gambourg on the acclaimed debut “The Arrival,” alongside Paul Morvan, David Sausay, and Vid Sketa; their second album has been recorded and will be released soon.
Featured on the debut of Greek singer‑songwriter Katerina Pipili with Joël Chausse and Adriano Dd Tenorio, blending afro, groove, soul, and jazz.
Tommy brings a compelling mix of virtuosity, lyrical storytelling, and stylistic range—equally at home in concert halls, jazz clubs, and festival stages—backed by an expanding profile across the UK, Europe, and Paris’s vibrant scene.
